Early spring Airport Kalamata has opened her doors again. Summer 2024 is coming!
Kalamata International airport official name is “Captain Vassilis Constantakopoulos” (in Greek Καπετάν Βασίλης Κωνσταντακόπουλος).

The airport is located between Kalamata and Messini. There is a military base of the Hellenic Air Force and an air-training department. Its is a fairly small airport, but it has a lot of character!
There are 18 different airlines flying from and to Kalamata (KLX). There fly directly from or to eg. Thessaloniki, Amsterdam, Zurich, Paris, London, Munich, Helsinki, Copenhagen.
A frequent route are flights executed by Transavia from Amsterdam to Kalamata.

When you arrive at Kalamata airport 🛬, you will enjoy the beautiful view of the Messian Bay. The moment the airplane opens her doors, your holiday begins, sunshine & high temperatures. You walk to the main building to pick-up your luggage from the conveyer belt🛄. You will be surprised how quickly they unload the airplane.

Sadly, all good things have an end, just as your holiday……..but you can drop off your MHK rental car in front of the entrance of the Airport. Just handover your car key to the MHK Employee (who is waiting for you). Unload your luggage and go directly to the check-in desk. Hassle free! 🛫
In the General Waiting Hall you will find a shop which’s sells sweets, sandwiches and drinks like coffee & soda’s. When you have passed the security checks you can do some late souvenir shopping and Messinian products. Also, refreshments can be bought at a small shop. When it is time to board, you will walk to your airplane, enjoying the last rays of Greek sunshine. Have a safe flight!🧿
