What is the smallest (= cheapest ) rental car category?

An economy car is the smallest of all rental categories. This is an excellent option for anyone who wants to travel on a budget. Please keep in mind that this car category accommodates only 4 persons, and that luggage space is limited, but you will still enjoy all the good purges like air conditioning, economic fuel consumption and easy parking 😊

What is the smallest (= cheapest ) automatic transmission car category?

A medium (and higher) car category is available with automatic transmission, e.g. Opel Astra, Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Automatic cars are more expensive to hire than manual transmission cars, due to higher purchase costs and are therefore not available in the economy category.

What is the price for a rental car in Kalamata?

You can rent a car from €14,- per day. The price is depending on the month, car category and duration of the rental period.

What is a standard/basic car?

In general terms this refers to a medium size car with manual transmission, 5 doors, to accommodate 5 persons. The standard/basic car refers to MHK Medium category like e.g. Peugeot 208 / Mitsubishi Space Star / Renault Captur.

What are the car categories?

What is a Drop Box?

Incase of returning a car outside of the office hours, you can drop the car keys in a safety box (Drop Box) in front of our office. If you would like to use this option please contact our office, so you may be properly advised of the process.

What is an additional driver?

This refers to any drivers listed on the rental agreement in addition to the main driver. An extra fee is added to the rental cost of €35, - per extra driver. 

What is the grace period for renting a car? 🚗

Car rentals are based on 24 hour periods. We at MHK allow a grace period of 2 extra hours on your return time on your drop off day, without being charged an extra day.

What is No Show Fee?

If you fail to notify MHK of your cancellation before the agreed time period, you are considered as a No-Show. The paid deposit is nonrefundable.

What is an upgrade?

What is an Age Surcharge?

For drivers under 21 years old and over 75 years, an additional daily fee is added to the insurance rate (underage or overage insurance). The amount charged differs depending on the car category & driver circumstance. Drivers must have held a full license for a minimum of 1 year.

What is CDW-insurance?

CDW stands for Collision Damage Waiver. All our rental cars are by default CWD-covered, but an Excess amount applies, which will vary per category. It reduces the liability of the renter in event of damage to the bodywork of the car, provided that the car is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.

What is FDW-insurance?

FDW stands for Full Damage Waiver. This is the insurance which can be purchased with an extra daily fee that will cover damages to the outside of the car (not including wheels & rims), it lowers your Excess amount (your own risk) to €0,-.

Whats is WUG-insurance?

WUG stands for Wheels Undercarriage Glass insurance. This is an optional which covers damages to wheels, tires, rims/mags or damages caused to the underside of the car.

Do I need extra car insurance?

When asked this question, your mind races. Is it worth it the extra €5 - €10 per day? Do you really need it or should you just take your chances and hope for the best? The answer is complicated………… You need to take into account what if I get into an accident, liability to other parties and what is your personal (financial) situation (and what type of insurance do you already carry)? Are you able to pay (a possible substantial) amount immediately?

While cost is a factor, so is peace of mind, particularly when traveling in unfamiliar areas. By weighing the pros and cons of each insurance option, you can ensure you are adequately protected while enjoying the convenience of a rented car on your holiday.
